About Japanese Screens.net
JapaneseScreens.net is a distributor of byobu (Japanese Folding Screens) based in Tokyo, Japan. All of the screens you see on this website are handcrafted and hand-made in Kyoto, Japan by Iohara Osamu of Iohara Seijudo. Iohara-sensei is the 3rd generation of a Kyoto byobu-making family, and the only maker in Japan still making screens completely from start to finish.
We distribute our screens throughout Japan and to the rest of the world. We also stock original Japanese wood-block prints (ukiyo-e) and decorative stone lanterns (ishidoro).
JapaneseScreens.net is owned by A-CROSS Corporation, a Tokyo-based international moving company serving the expat community in Japan. On request, we can arrange screen viewings in our Tokyo office, located at:
